Information for Seton Keough Families

In the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy and their founder, Catherine McAuley, we stand ready to offer Seton Keough students and their families a warm Mercy welcome as they consider the next step in their educational journey for the 2017-18 academic year. To that end, we have established a Mercy Welcome Team with a mission to walk with students and families in this significant transition. Our Mercy Welcome Team includes Mercy’s president, principal, dean of students, director of enrollment management, director of guidance and student services, assistant director of admissions, registrar, director of finance and operations, director of athletics, director of college counseling, and faculty members who can offer Seton Keough students and families important information about the admissions process and financial aid, special visiting days, transportation, transcript evaluation, academic programs, learning differences services, athletics, and our heartfelt and welcoming Mercy spirit.

Below is important information to help Seton Keough students and families on their journey:

  •   Mercy High School will work to recognize the experience and traditions of Seton Keough as we plan how to welcome Seton Keough students to the Mercy community in the 2017-18 academic year.
  •   Mercy High School will work with Seton Keough families—as we do with all our families—to make a Catholic education affordable and accessible.
  •   Mercy High School is working to create transportation options for Seton Keough students.
  •   Mercy High School will work with a Seton Keough student to plan her academic program at Mercy so that she is able to transfer her credits and graduate from Mercy on time.
  •    Mercy High School will work carefully with rising juniors and seniors to ensure a successful college planning process.
  •   Mercy High School will offer additional visiting days especially designed for Seton Keough students. All Seton Keough students interested in Mercy are encouraged to visit Mercy and experience a day on our campus. To arrange for a visiting day, please contact the Admissions Team at admissions@mercyhighschool.com or call 410-433-8880.
  •    Seton Keough students and families are invited to our Fall Open House on Saturday, November 12 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.  A special information session for Seton Keough students and families will be held at noon. Register here for Fall Open House.
  •   To arrange an individual tour or if you have questions, please contact the Admissions Team at admissions@mercyhighschool.com or call 410-433-8880.
  • The application fee for the 2017-18 academic fee will be waived for Seton Keough students.

Families are invited to begin their conversation with Mercy by contacting our Ms. Sherry Bossle '91 at 410-433-8880, ext. 246 or at sbossle@mercyhighschool.com. Ms. Bossle, a member of our faculty, has been specially appointed to assist Seton Keough families this fall.

We are deeply saddened by the announcement that Seton Keough High School will be closing at the end of this academic year. Our prayers are with the entire Seton Keough community—students, parents, alumnae, faculty and staff and friends—who will feel the loss of their beloved school very deeply.

Learning Differences

STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES

At Mercy, we are committed to ensuring that every student who desires our college-preparatory education will succeed. Mercy High School’s Learning Difference Specialist, Ms. Cynthia Magruder, along with our Director of Guidance and Student Support, Ms. Kate Gerwin, MA, L.G.P.C., will work with you and your daughter to ensure that any accommodations or additional help that she may need will be provided.

At Mercy, we believe that students with learning differences thrive when they are supported both by caring professionals as well as challenged by the classes they take, therefore, students with learning differences benefit by taking the same college-preparatory curriculum as all other students. Our Learning Difference Specialist then provides the individualized support needed for your daughter to succeed academically and emotionally.

Please contact Ms. Magruder at cmagruder@mercyhighschool.com or at 410-433-8880 to discuss your unique needs.
