Dance is the unique art form that combines the aesthetic with the kinesthetic experience. The co-curricular program explores the genres of ballet, modern dance and jazz dance in the beautiful setting of the dance studio in The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Auditorium building. A dual emphasis on both the technical and artistic training of the students provides them with not only a solid, comprehensive foundation, but also a stimulating and enjoyable artistic encounter. Students in the Dance Troupe present two performances in May.

Mercy's dance coordinator, Ms. Gloria Lang, is also Director of Towson University's Children's Dance Division. She has been an educator, choreographer, and consultant in private, public and community dance programs since 1971. Ms. Lang has arranged master classes taught by guest artists for dance students to further enrich their learning process. Requirements for participation in the Dance program are established at the beginning of each academic year.

In addition to offering students performance opportunities, Ms. Lang seeks to integrate the art of dance into some academic areas as well. She has worked in collaboration with humanities teachers to integrate movement and dance into curriculum units.
