Learning Differences

The Learning Differences Specialist, Ms. Cindy Magruder, is a member of Human Development Services. The primary responsibility of the specialist is to work more productively with faculty to help them understand students who have learning differences.

Some students have particular learning differences which distract them from the content and/or process of their academic work. Some of these students are very bright. They have particular learning differences and therefore need particular and different supports so that they can succeed academically.

The Learning Differences Specialist works with faculty and with some students individually along with their teachers to ensure those supports. Advisers are always brought into the understanding of a student’s particular needs and what is being done to assist her.
